About this Cook
I am about to graduate from high school, and am trying to get as much cooking experience in as possible before i am forced to desert my nice kitchen for a dorm room... I have so many hobbies! I really enjoy doing almost everything. But most importantly i enjoy life... hence i enjoy cooking!
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely LOVE baking bread. of all kinds. and every kind. the ultimate stress relief is working my hands through a giant glob of delightful dough! i also like to experiment with healthy foods such as veggie soups, granola bars, and fish variations. And did i mention i adore cooking with anything involving dark chocolate??? and if you are wondering, that clearly does not contradict my obsession with healthy food... :-)
My favorite family cooking traditions
really, my family doesn't cook much. there are a few "famous" recipes scattered here and there, such as gramma's christmas squash or my dad's burgers, but i am somewhat of a revolutionary when it comes to cooking in my family. Prepare yourself, Thomassons, for a chef not restricted to tacos, cornbread, and lasagne is arising from your midst!!
My cooking triumphs
I have an almond chicken recipe that I swear could take on anybody's... yes that includes you Emeril! ;-)
My cooking tragedies
once, i attempted to make leek soup as a healthy diet aid soup... well... either the final result wasn't intended to taste like dirty water seasoned with b.o. or i just don't like leeks!

Tasty Meat Pie
i thought this was rather boring actually, and there were a lot of things that could have been improved upon to make a tastier recipe. also the vegetables need to be cooked slightly before putting in the pie or they will be hard.

Banana Frittata
This was delicious, but rolling in butter! perhaps less butter is necessary?

Monkey Bread I
This was good, but so sweet, which is unavoidable with monkey bread. that's just how it is!
