Rich and Simple French Onion Soup
This was yummy & easy to make. The hardest part was finding broiler-proof bowls! I subbed veggie stock for the beef broth as my daughter is a vegetarian. It was delicious!

Sesame Green Bean Salad
This is a yummy way to eat your green beans, especially if you like food with an Asian flavor. Since it's supposed to be served at room-temp, it makes the dinner time rush easier because you can simply make it ahead of time. I used pre-toasted sesame seeds I bought at the Asian market.

Plain Eggless Cake
One of my daughters has an egg allergy so we tried this recipe. No one could tell it didn't have eggs. The texture was much like a regular cake (with eggs)- it wasn't crumbly. The batter was thick- but I had only used 1/2 c. butter (that's all I had). I baked it for 30 minutes but it was too much for my oven--I think mine must run hot. I made a citrus glaze for those in the family that wanted it a little sweeter.
