We used the pumpkin and cream as a "base" but switched out heavy cream for equal amounts sour cream and cream cheese instead. We also added olive oil, kept the garlic, plus added milk, chicken stock, Trader Joe's pumpkin butter, crushed fennel, cinnamon, salt, pepper, and ginger to taste. We served the meal with Italian red wine and fresh baked Italian herb bread. It was a wonderful meal.

Photography Notes: We used soft, orange based lighting and a Cannon Powershot A-430, set on "cloudy" with no flash. The wine pictured is Epicurio Red from Trader Joe's. The miniature pumpkins are from Orchard Nursery in Lafayette, CA, the place mats from Cost Plus World Market, and the wine glasses from Pier One Imports. This shot was the winning pick from 19 test shots. The pictured meal was quickly devoured shortly after the photo was taken.
