About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love, love, LOVE to bake. I like to take a recipe, play around with it any make it something different. Chocolate cake and strawberry pie are two of my favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas was always a big cooking event at my house growing up. My mom would start the month before and fill our freezer with cookies and breads that we at all through the Christmas season.
My cooking triumphs
I've always been scared of making bread and my own pie crusts. And I've recently done both of those :)
My cooking tragedies
Way too many to list.

Two Tier Strawberry Pie
This pie is amazing. I used strawberry cream cheese instead of plain, that was the only change I made. For those of you who didn't use the grenadine syrup, go back and try it again with it! It makes such a difference. No one can figure out why the strawberries are so good! Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Slow-Cooked Chili
I hated chili nights growing up. So when my husband asked for chili, I was a little less then thrilled. I made this recipe and wow, I love chili now. Super easy and great as is. I change the green pepper to red, and don't add the tomato sauce because we like it thicker. This makes enough for 2 meals for us, and freezes great! I just thaw it and stick it in the microwave until done. Thank you for sharing this with us. :)
