Bill's Sausage Gravy

Family likes this pretty well, especially CAL. She does not like big chunks of sausage though! Made for dinner 11/8/09. JB is the only one who thinks this is supposed to be just for breakfast.

This was good and easy. John really liked it as it was (it was sweet) --JB said it was "puckery" because of the vinegar. CAL really liked chicken, sauce was OK for her.

Easy Lemon Cookies

Very fast and easy. JB really liked. Did not use lemon extract, would not use as cookies were very lemony. Used vanilla extract instead. Baked about 8 minutes.

Meatballs and Sauce

2 cans soup; sauteed onion, paprika, pepper and a dash of Kitchen Bouquet. Made for LaPres Christmas 2008. Kids really liked them. Made a whole lot, though.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

This was good, not best ever, though. Made for JB's 11th b-day. Very rich, nice vanilla, creamy flavor. Added a bit of sugar to crust. Takes a long time to bake but was the best looking homemade cheesecake I have ever seen! Served with fresh strawberry sauce, which wasn't to everyone's liking. Kids preferred plain.

Italian Sausage Soup

This was good soup. John and Cal liked it a lot. John said to use spicy sausage. JB said it was too thin. Over all, made it with bulk pork sausage and added: extra garlic cloves, worchestershire sauce, 2 dashes of kitchen bouquet and some italian seasoning to give the broth some extra flavor.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

This was really good. Made with pork sausage and omitted the liver. John said it was like 1/2 his dads and 1/2 my moms with fruit. Very moist and probably pretty high fat content.

White Bean Chicken Chili

This was very good. Everyone liked. Made with salsa verde (instead of tomatillos and chiles) Also, just cooked cubed chicken with the onions. Added 2 cans of beans a bit of extra cumin, worchestershire,a dash of sugar to cut acidity and a tablespoon of Red Hot and BBQ sauce. John said it was even better the next day.

Cookies were thin and lacey and very difficult to get off the pan. Tasted great though. Definately did not look like the picture. Perhaps try with thicker egg whites and put on parchment paper.

Cherry Crisp

Tried to make this a cherry filling for a pie (i.e. put into a pie crust) for John's b-day. Crust did not cook enough but the filling and crispy top were very good. Did not use any nuts.
