About this Cook
My husband and I have three children and we all love to cook. My favorite times are when me and the children are in the kitchen with our aprons on cooking together. It is a real treat for me!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about everything - that is why I love allrecipes Web site because I like to try new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
One tradition my family has is that we try to celebrate all holidays by cooking something which reflects the holiday, i.e. chinese new year, martin luther king day, presidents day, etc.
My cooking tragedies
One memory which comes to mind is of an Easter dinner several years ago when I decided to have some family over. I made a nice pineapple glaze for the ham and then slowly basted the ham to its final cooking temp. The whole kitchen smelled wonderful. As we were seated, my husband did the honor and cut the ham. As he was struggling to make the first cut, I noticed that there was plastic covering still on the ham! After removing the covering, along with the entire pineapple glaze I had worked so hard on, we had a good laugh (at my expense). I will NEVER make that mistake again!!

Bacon Corn Chowder
Very good recipe. I had all ingredients on hand and decided to make this on a snowy day. Glad I did. Husband and children both wanted more. I suggest doubling the recipe as I ran out and the family was wanting more.

Jalapeno Jelly
Very good. Try this appetizer: Get a ritz (or other buttery cracker) and spread cream cheese on it. Add this wonderful jelly and top with a slice of jalapeno - aka Cowboy Candy! Delicious!
