About this Cook
24 year old mother of twin two year old boys. Married to a good army man. In school for my BS in Human Services and work part time as a college tutor. Love hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking. I'm obsessed with lawn gnomes and pink lawn flamingos. I'm very superstitious about them and believe that they come to life when we are all sleeping and cause mischief unless I leave them baked goods as offerings.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican, Creole, Italian, Southern.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We never really had any traditions. I would always just help my dad in the kitchen. He is a GREAT cook. My mom wasn't much of a cook, her best friend was the microwave. LOL! We had a lot of microwave chicken tenders and Spaghetti O's when she was in charge of dinner.
My cooking triumphs
Lasagna, Chicken and Dumplings, Beef Pepper Jack Quesadillas, Jambalaya and Honey Pecan Pie
My cooking tragedies
Southwest Tacos.....I don't want to get into it.

Kentucky Style Fried Green Tomatoes
Didn't use cornmeal, just used eggs and flour. Fried them up in bacon grease and added some cajun seasoning for more flavor.

Brown Sugar Smokies
AWESOME!!!!!! I made these for our Superbowl party and I could not get enough. I was actually depressed when we ran out! I will definitely be making these again. I put them on skewers and baked them over a deep casserole dish so it would catch the bacon grease and they wouldn't be soggy. Baked them for 20 minutes, then flipped and baked an additional 20 minutes. After that I broiled them for a couple minutes since I like my bacon real crispy. Brown sugar really set it off, thanks for the recipe!

Classic Macaroni Salad
Too sweet, Too runny, YUK! I'm actually upset that I wasted my groceries by making this. No-one will even touch it.
