About this Cook
I'm 38 and I've been a vegetarian since I was 13. When I told my grandma I was a vegetarian she said "then you will have to learn to be a good cook." when I asked why she said "a way to a man's heart is through his stomach. If you are a vegetarian, you will have to be a really good cook to keep him." Well, I started learning to cook right then and there. My grandma taught me the basics. From there I learned to be creative in the kitchen. My boyfriend, on the other hand is a meat eater with little intrest in vegetables. I love cooking for him though because it means I get to cook things I wouldn't normally cook. For me, cooking is more than just making a meal, cooking is almost a spiritual experience, especially when I am cooking for loved ones.
My favorite things to cook
I love making vegetarian won tons, but not as much as I like eating them. One day when I get the measurements down I will post the recipe. Also, I like to cook chicken cordon bleu--basicly because I get to pound it flat. Don't know why, but that is just fun. I am a pasta fanatic, just can't get enough of it. Ooh, and salmon poached in white wine... even though I don't eat it, it smells so good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
um, I don't have any.
My cooking triumphs
Had a dinner party and made poached salmon in wine. It is so easy and was a big hit.
My cooking tragedies
One time I was cooking oatmeal of all things and added too much salt to the water(I salted like I was cooking pasta). I served my ex boyfriend first and he sat down and proceeded to eat it. I prepaired my oatmeal and took one biet and realized what I did. Looked over at him who was just eating away, and said "I salted the water too much and this is horrible, why are you eating it?" He said "Yeah it's bad, but you put it infront of me."

Polish Style Lasagna
this recipe was awesome! i followed most of the recipe using the cream cheese in the mash patatos. i did grill an onion and mix it with the patatos and on each layer of patato i sprinkled sharp cheddar cheese. i then put more grilled onions on the top and put the rest of the chedar cheese. the flavor was great, like a hug on a plate! thanks so much for the recipe

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast
I am a vegetarian but my boyfriend is not, and he is not a vegetable frendly guy so I made this recipe without the spinach. Not only was this a fun recipe to make but really easy. he loved it and gave it 5 stars. I did the buttermilk suggestion and used cheddar cheese and monterey jack and seasoned the sour cream. When I make it again, I will set some filling aside and ad the spinach for something on my plate. Thanks for posting!
