About this Cook
I am 23 years old. I am from Finland, but married an American and have been living in the states for little over 3 years. We went back to Finland for a year and it was great... now we are back to the states and I miss Finland a lot, but ready for new experiences!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook casseroles, because they are so easy, but tasty! I also bake a lot.. pies, cookies.. mostly to satisfy my sweet tooth :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't have a lot of traditions with my husband yet, but my favorite from my family back in Finland is the Christmas cooking! I love the smell of the house at that time.. smells like cinnamon and rice pudding and ham and everything great. We also gather as sisters, and make traditional Finnish christmas casseroles together.. they turn out to be so much better than the ones bought from the store.
My cooking triumphs
I never cooked before I was maybe 18.. I mean, I tried sometimes, but it never really did go very well. When I got married, I decided I want to learn how to cook. I guess the first triumph was when I cooked something, and everyone actually enjoyed it!
My cooking tragedies
Everything I did before :) I used to be such a terrible cook.. I would overcook the potatoes, under cook the rice, have hard as rock cookies, have flat as paper bread.. you name it. But after starting to learn and looking for sites like this, I don't have as many tragedies anymore!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili
Very good! I only put 1lb meat in it but rest according to the recipe. It was a really good chili, and with not very much effort! I looked up some other chili recipes on the site, and they ask for like 200 ingredients.. why do that when you can do this one with no hassle? I added some corn to it and husband ate 2 bowls of it

Simply the Easiest Beef Brisket
I am not sure if I did everything right, since other people have said that theirs turned out really tender. Mine wasn't as tender as I would have liked it. Husband loved it though, so giving it a 4 stars :)Oh, and I also reduced the brown sugar a tad.
