About this Cook
I am a newly wed who was taught to cook by my wonderful husband, Luther. He has worked in restaurants for almost 10 years. The man knows his stuff. We live on a LOW SODIUM diet, which means no fast food, no salt, and no salt substitutes. But that turned out to be a great thing, because the diet opens the door to all kinds of spices you wouldn't think of. My favorites: cayenne pepper, chili powder, cumin, curry powder, cilantro, dill....
My favorite things to cook
My specialty is baking. I am an expert cookie baker, and Luther is the cookie monster!
My cooking triumphs
The Chocolate Chip Cookie. Honestly, I have tried different recipes but you can't beat Nestle Toll House if you do it right. My strawberry bread has won Best In Show at the county fair also.
My cooking tragedies
It has taken me too long to learn the art of "sauce". "Don't put the heat on too high!" was my mom's rally cry.

Old Fashioned Strawberry Pie
I substituted 1/4 cup cornstarch instead of flour, and while it held together well, it tasted just like strawberry jam and toast. Did anyone else notice that?

Blue Cheese Dressing
Don't change anything about this AMAZING recipe! We had this dressing with buffalo chicken tenders (recipe from this site), and it was sooooooo good.

Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine II
Best pizza crust EVER! You can play with it by putting brown sugar instead of white, or adding oregano etc.
