About this Cook
Family is are Beef & Pork eater I eat only Fish/Chicken or Turkey So let's say cooking around our hous can be creative. I am a single Parent of a Teenage who like life simple and down home w/ out it being HOT or spicey. I am not here in empress anyone. I enjoy recipes & trying them on my family & friends so I can sneak in a few veggies as I prefer veggie over meat but my daughter & fiance prefer MEAT....The family eats quick meals of casserole or skillet style as well as Burger W/ Mac & Cheese.. I work outside the home. You can reach me any time at Email me at jayashiangel on gmail. I got bored a while back and wanted to learn to blog so here is a link to that as well...http://jayashiangel.blogspot.com/
My favorite things to cook
I cook real food not all the fancy plated kind. Meat/potatoes/bread/veggies.I enjoy baking as well. Snacks to fill the munch hole....I also make recipes that can replace store bought Box/Jar/Bottle items. That I can make in my home. From Simple Syrup to Mexican flavor Rice Mixes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Teaching my child to be able to read/review and cook a recipes. My family likes to keep things very simple be yet tasty with quick style meals that anyone can make. Currently have a master list of meals we like or what you can make with a specific type of meat.
My cooking triumphs
Getting my daughter to plan a dinner for me with out being asked and cooking it and serving it.. :)Dec 2008 !!But the kitchen was a mess after:)
My cooking tragedies
I am a left over user upper and I attempted to feed my fiance leftover sloppy joe in Taco salad didn't fly...I loved it lol:) But then I am crazy that way...

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos
Loved this recipe for breakfast burritos..I halved the recipe as it was just for me and used taco size tortillas and black beans in place of the kidney. I saute'd the onions and garlic then mashed the sweet potato & beans together and dropped that in the pan and added the remaining spices to quicken the process. I made this recipe for less then $5.00 as I had the spices on hand.
