Chicago Bears Tailgate
About this Cook
My husbandand I love to experiment with cooking. We are wine distributors so we always have GREAT wine on hand. We are also AVID Chicago Bears fans and LOVE to tailgate. We have a wood burning pizza oven in our back yard and use it all year round.
My favorite things to cook
Love pasta and authentic Italian dishes. Experiment with gourmet recipes on weekends.
My favorite family cooking traditions
all the classics, Turkey stuffing, etc. Also my moms spaghetti
My cooking triumphs
I am the three time Jack Daniels Tailgating champion in Chicago
My cooking tragedies
Burning bean based soups.....so badly that I have to throw the pans away, and the SMELL YUK

Orzo with Tomatoes, Basil, and Gorgonzola
My husband and I thought there was too much gorgonzola, I'll try it again but I will cut the cheese in half. For us it just took over the whole flavor of the dish.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Short Ribs
I looked this up for our daughter, then thought well OK I'd give them a try, OMG! I couldn't believe how good they were. I'm a pretty darn good cook and I usually take HOURS with my short ribs, smoking, then brasing, then blah blah blah. These were AWESOME. I picked all the meat off the bones at the end, meanwhile I added Red Wine and a little thickener to the gravey. I served them over mashed potatoes. We had a big Shiraz from Austalia. I would serve these to my gourmet club in a martini glass over mashed potatoes as an appetizer. Just enough to have them begging for more. They are VERY RICH, so you don't need a lot. ENJOY and Thanks

Marinated Turkey Breast
I have made this several times, the first time I didn't add all the cloves because I'm not a huge clove lover. I found that it really did NEED ALL THE CLOVES. When I take this to a tailgate I always take the recipe because people ask for it. Thanks for sharing
