We are a Christian family living in southeastern Missouri. I am a homemaker and mother of 2. My husband is a dry-waller/electrician. Our children are young, and I am blessed to be able to stay at home and educate them myself. Of course, they are active helpers in the kitchen...with the cooking and the chores!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making quick breads and finding new recipes to make in the slow-cooker. I am really good at tweaking any recipe to cook in the slow-cooker all day, so dinner is often a breeze at our house!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sister and I have our children decorate gingerbread houses together in December. It is a great time for building strong family bonds! Another cooking tradition I adore is the B.B.Q. - my husband gets to share in the food preparation and of course the taste of the B.B.Q. is always so good!
My cooking triumphs
Every time I serve a meal and we sit and enjoy a nice time of family fellowship over the food, it is a cooking triumph. There are daily cooking triumphs in my home!
My cooking tragedies
When I was a teenager I started a grease fire in my parent's kitchen, causing extensive damage. I stayed away from cooking until I was married, and had to learn to cook out of necessity. I was pleased to discover how much I really enjoy cooking and baking!
