Italian Fish Fillets
Me
My beautiful baby!
About this Cook
I am a teacher by profession. I love being with children and animals (though not necessarily in that order!)
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking food that is simple and easy to make. (I simplify recipes to my convinience, if necessary). However, I do not enjoy cooking on an everyday basis - the maid does that. I like to try out new dishes at restaurants, analyse them, and then reproduce them at home.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking cakes and cookies with my daughters.
My cooking triumphs
I'm a perfectionist, so everything should be a 'triumph'.
My cooking tragedies
Was doing an exam and my stiffly beaten egg whites 'ran' because I hadn't added the sugar and had let them stand while I got busy doing something else. Had to start all over again.

Gobi Aloo (Indian Style Cauliflower with Potatoes)
Although I cook with minimal oil, I will have to say that this recipe requires more than 1 Tbsp as there is quite a lot of cauliflower. A couple of suggestions - cut the potatoes smaller than the cauliflower as they take longer to cook. Cover and cook over slow heat. Add cilantro after the vegetables have cooked and allow to heat through. This allows the fresh flavour to remain. Gobi Aloo is meant to be dry - it is not a curry, so pls don't follow other reviews of adding coconut milk.

Italian Fish Fillets
This recipe was easy to make, but too bland for my liking. It needs to be pepped up. Next time, I will pan fry the fish before adding it to the sauce. The sauce could do with some garlic. Hopefully, that will improve the flavour.

Panzanella Salad
An excellent salad! Loved the toasted croutons. Couldn't wait for it to stand for 20 min - it was polished off immediately!
