About this Cook
I started a chef's apprenticeship with Ralph DeVore in Frederick Maryland back in 1988. I worked with him for about 6 years on and off. From there I worked in numerous restaurants as a sauntee/line cook. I eventually went on to become a tattoo artist. Now, as a single mom, I'm heading back to school full time to find a new career path but cooking has always been my passion and I plan to write a cook book someday.
My favorite things to cook
I love making Italian dishes with yummy salads and bread. Sauces, veggie gravies and anything grilled with cheese! I love making soups and seeing how tasty I can make something without meat. I've been a vegetarian for many years but miss cooking a juicy bird for hungry meat eaters!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving my mother always makes cranberry relish and Kooken.
My cooking triumphs
I'm pretty fast with knives....The fastest chopper in the East.
My cooking tragedies
I once dumped a pot of hot rice on my hand and arm. The blisters were hideous.

Waffles II
simple, fantastic, elegant and yummy. They were easy to make and fun to modify. I always try to cram nutritious ingredients into everything for my 4 year old so this was perfect for adding, molasses, psyllium husk and wheat germ.

Zucchini Corn Fritters
Very tasty! I modified it by using broccoli instead of zucchini and half and half instead of milk. Quite yummy but FATTENING!
