About this Cook
Spending my first year(s) after college in Japan, a foreign country where I can't make everything I've grown up with back in the U.S.A. I don't speak/read Japanese very well (ex. cooking tragedies).
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, cake, pie, taco, potatoes, baked breaded chicken, cheese burger, meat loaf (various), hot cocoa, tea, pasta
My favorite family cooking traditions
Special chocolate chip cookies, meat loaf, pork roast, real mashed potatoes, lasagna, stuffing/dressing, brownies
My cooking triumphs
Macha (green tea)flavored sugar cookies
My cooking tragedies
~ My first batch of rice in a Japanese rice cooker, resulted in burnt rice! Lesson learned, learn what the Japanese means before you start cooking with it.

Alfredo Sauce
This is a great base to start from. Thanks for the post. Personally I wanted more of a garlic flavor. So next time I'll dice the the crushed garlic and then lightly pan fry it while the butter is melting. This way the oils from the garlic start to come out sooner and can infuse into the cream while it is simmering. Also I found that dried parsley is fine, but of course doesn't have as big of a punch as fresh parsley.

Cheesy Tuna Melts
This was pretty good for a canned tuna sandwich. Thanks for sharing.

Easy Bake Fish
Honestly the glaze is tasty, but I found that it buries the taste of the salmon. I don't recommend this for your expensive cuts. This is a nice way to get kids to try salmon since it has a sweet glaze. I personally will try again but only with my cheaper cuts. Note if you don't like the "fishy" taste, you might like this dish. However if you like tasting the actual fish, you may want to try something else. All in all, this is an 'OK' dish.
