About this Cook
Brian and I got engaged on Father's Day 2007 after dating for almost 3 years, and knowing one another for 7 years. Note: The cooking interests and other interests are a combo of the two of us since he is now using this site as much as me. We are getting married on July 19, 2008.
My favorite things to cook
We enjoy grilling a lot in the summer, and even though Brian doesn't mind standing outside in the winter to grill, we usually use the indoor grill when it's cold. Some of our favorite things are Laughing Cow Chicken, Chicken Parmigian, Turkey Burgers and Turkey Tacos, Tuna, Salmon, Sushi, that's just the start.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is big on casseroles and roasts. Brian's family is Serbian, so there are a lot of things that I make that Brian has never had before. He says things like, I didn't know you could do that with Such-and Such. My mom never made that. I am also learing how to cook some more traditional Eastern European meals so that we can make them for our family some day.
My cooking triumphs
I was always intimidated by French Onion Soup. I saw a recipe and tried it, and it was so easy! Now I just GO FOR IT!
My cooking tragedies
I made Veal Milanese for Brian when we had just started dating, I left the bone in, and he HATED that. The meat was good, but the bone really bothered him. To this day, when we talk about meals we liked and didn't like, he brings that up. I made it again a few months later with no bone, he was much happier.

Slow Cooker Venison Roast
This venison recipe is great! I did make a few changes based on our personal tastes and a lower sodium diet. I used 1 T. less sodium soy sauce, 1 T. Worchestershire, 1 T. granulated garlic, 1 t. fresh black pepper, 2 packages Lipton onion soup mix and 2 cans less sodium cream of mushroom soup. I also add 2 onions, sliced, 4 carrots, sliced and 4 red potatoes, cubed. Cook on low crockpot 8 hours. We ate this for dinner with crusty bread for 3 nights! Makes a lot, enjoy!

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini
Wow!!! This soup was WONDERFUL!!! We will definately make this again, and again! I made a few changes based on the previous reviews. 2 big containers of chicken broth and water (didn't feel like opening a bottle of wine for just a little bit) I added a can of cannellini beans and blended them in when I added the broth. Then I added 2 cans of petite diced tomatoes. I also added a couple of handfuls of spinach when I put the tortellini in. I don't like my veggies mushy in soup, so I cooked the initial 30 minutes and added the spinach, zucchini and tortellini together at the end.
