I am a stay at home mom. I have been married since May, 1997 to a wonderful man. I moved down South in 1999 and can say it has truly been an adventure. I am busy most of the time with my kids and helping my husband run our ceramic tile business. My job is definitely 24/7.
My favorite things to cook
I love a challenge. I couldn't cook a thing when my husband and I first got together. I learned quickly the basics and became very interested in cooking right away. I love to cook just about anything, especially desserts! Yum! I cook for 8 people everyday so I love to try new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make up a lot of recipes. My family favorite is my Smothered Burritos. I came up with this recipe one night when I discovered I was missing a few ingredients for the actual recipe I was using. I have been making it for about 8 years now. It is recommended often by friends as well and people always want the recipe.
My cooking triumphs
Baking a birthday cake for each of my 5 children on their birthday. I ask them what kind of cake they want and I try with all I have to make sure they get it. I love seeing their faces when they bite into it!
My cooking tragedies
In the beginning of my cooking journey I was not able to cook anything successfully. Everything came out of a box. The first time I made Lasanga I made it without meat and they whole thing was mushy. I learned quickly after that I needed to read a lot of cookbooks and ask other cooks how to make things. But overall I really don't have many cooking tragedies. At least not yet.
