About this Cook
Started cooking when I was 12, when my Mom started nursing school. I had many failures in the early years, but finally got the hang of it. Now my favorite thing to do is try new Allrecipes recipes for my husband and friends. Allrecipes makes me hit a homerun every time!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook everything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mostly home cooking type things. Holidays found all of us in the kitchen!
My cooking triumphs
I spent a week cooking for a youth camp, and overheard many of the teens telling their parents how AWESOME the food had been. That meant more to me than just about any compliment I've received for my cooking.
My cooking tragedies
Made a spaghetti sauce with some spices that moths had gotten into (I hadn't smelled them first, but wondered why it was clumpy) It tasted horrible and I had to throw out the whole batch! We had pasta with a garlic butter sauce made at the last minute!

Mexican Corn on the Cob (Elote)
Awesome corn! I had to scale it to 2, but I wished that I had bought more corn. Excellent flavors, unexpectedly wonderful.

Mini Cheesecakes I
Made these for my friend's birthday party! She absolutely loved them. I too used the mini nilla wafers to save time (One box will make 4 batches), and I used a small scoop that holds about 1 T (Pampered Chef)for portion control. This also saved me time on clean up! Thanks for the great recipe!

Dijon Grilled Pork Chops
"These are the best tasting pork chops I have ever tasted!" This from my DH at least 3 times during the meal! I served these with grilled fresh pineapple, and potato salad. I used 3/4 in thick boneless porkchops and tenderized them with a heavy spiked tenderizer (Pampered Chef), and then marinated for 2 1/2 hours. The only thing I added to the marinade was 1/2 teaspoon groung black pepper. I basted the reserved marinade 2 times during grilling over medium charcoal for about 6 minutes per side. Fabulous!
