About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
marine corps thanksgivings. my husband was a marine and while he was in japan a gunny's wife always had him over for the holidays. so when i became a marine wife i did the same however it wasnt one marine it was about thirty. we are in the civilian world now but every thanksgiving i get phone calls about how they miss our lil marine family thanksgivings together and now their wives invite other homesick marines over during the holidays.

Chunky Bacon and Potato Soup
this recipe definately has potential but it needed some fine tuning. i made the soup exactly to the recipe and found it to be missing something so i took the advice of another review and added country gravy mix...helped in the flavor department. i still felt like it was missing something so i added some condensed cheese soup...oh my...what goes better with potatos and bacon than cheese. my family loved it so much that they want me to make more for the football game on sunday.

Cube Steak Parmesan
it was good tasting but my family didn't like how soggy it became after baking it. next time i would try possibly puting it in the broiler.

Italian Sausage Tortellini Soup
what a great recipe. this was perfect for the cool fall days right before a high school football game. i made a double batch for my entire family and they all raved about it till it was all gone. my very picky and opinionated father told me i need to make this recipe more often. I can't wait to try adding some fresh baby spinach.
