About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I like trying new recipes. I especially like to bake and use my crockpot.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pork chops and potato salad - both recipes handed down from my grandmother. She was German and the potato salad is hot and delicious with bits of bacon and onion - no mayonnaise here. The chops are fried schnitzel style and my kids who have left home request this dinner when they come home.
My cooking triumphs
Ummmm.... feeding my family and having them think I'm the best cook around???
My cooking tragedies
Burning peas. I was heating a can of peas when I was first married and got distracted. The peas started to burn, setting off the smoke alarm. They burned so badly that I had to throw out the pot they were in. Needless to say, I've improved since then!

Chicken Piccata III
Excellent recipe. I left off the artichokes since I don't care for them and added about 2 Tbsp of capers.

Oven Fried Chicken II
This was good, if a bit greasy but fried chicken is usually somewhat greasy. Definitely will use this recipe again.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast
Excellent! I've used this twice now, and it turned out moist and delicious and perfectly cooked each time.
