As a home school teacher, I am blessed to be at home most of the day. Home is my favorite place to be and all the things I love to do are there: garden, read, cook, genealogy, knit, movies.
My favorite things to cook
Using things from my garden, such as tomatoes, basil, rhubarb, cilantro, raspberries and a sundry of other delicious fruits and vegetables.
Anything that sounds good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make a homemade cooked dinner nearly every night. We eat better, avoid the noise and hassles of restaurant eating, and my house always smells like something good to eat.
My cooking triumphs
When I learned that my son was to be serving a mission in Italy, I purchased a pasta maker and now I make all my own pasta. Homemade is SO much better than box pasta. It only takes 4 minutes to cook.
Learning to make a beautiful loaf of bread has taken me many years, but I have finally figured it out. And boy does it make the house smell scrumptious!
My cooking tragedies
My first roast was in a pan on the stove and the moisture dried up and it burned on the bottom. At the time we were poor college students and that roast was expensive. If I recall correctly, I cried.
