About this Cook
I am a married working mom with little time to spare, who loves quick, easy dishes with a southern flair.
My favorite things to cook
Anything in a crockpot, appetizers, deserts, southern dishes, and my Grandma's chicken noodles.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have only a few dishes handed down in the family, but love to make my Grandmother's noodles, and several of my mom's best dishes, too.
My cooking triumphs
1)Grilling swordfish, and convincing my VERY picky child it was chicken. 2)Pureeing veggies so the kids don't know what they are eating. 3)Coming up with new twists on favorite dishes so that my family never gets bored with my cooking.
My cooking tragedies
I have two... 1) I made spaghetti for my new husband on our honeymoon. When I didn't make enough sauce, he informed me that "his momma didn't make it like that". I informed him he needed to go talk to his momma, then! lol (It was pretty bad sauce!) 2)I was in a hurry, and decided to make my own version of Tuna helper for my son and husband. It was so disgusting. My cherished ones took one good look, one good sniff and headed straight for McDonald's! They wouldn't touch it.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie
Served this at a birthday party along with the cake and cupcakes, and this was demolished, while the others barely got touched. I followed other reviews and added melted chocolate chips onto the crust, which was nice, but really, really hard to cut. Next time I will add a tiny bit of crisco to the chocolate, so it has more of a consistency of the chocolate on chocolate covered strawberries (cutable) and all the flavor. Thanks for the recipe- it is a new hit at our house!

Crunchy Chicken Balls
Pretty good- and so easy to adapt to what you have in the kitchen. I was out of Mayo and used Ranch. Was out of pecans and used a breadcrumb/glazed walnuts mixture. I think the pecans would be better. Will be using them next time. Thanks for a great fall-back recipe for parties.

Cracked Sugar Cookies II
Going to have to give this a solid 5 stars...very soft, nice and sweet if rolled in sugar. Best of all- the first recipe my 9 year old made ALL BY HERSELF...great recipe for kids! Turned out beautifully! Thanks!
