My name's Emily, and I've been cooking for about a year. I'm in 8th grade. I have a cooking website, emedibles.com (check it out!). Hopefully, I'll have a cookbook out by 1-2 years. After I graduate college, I plan to go to culinary school and become a chef.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is my speciality. I've been licking the spoon since I was 4, mixing the batter since I was 6, and pouring the batter since I was 10. I'm also decent at cooking savory dishes, like soups, pasta, and meat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving. Pumpkin pie, green bean casserole, turkey, mashed potatoes, etc.
My cooking triumphs
Angel food cake & lemon meringue pie completely from scratch. After my sister-in-law tried my lemon meringue pie, she commented "I really don't like lemon meringue, but this is good. Is there anymore?" And whenever my parents invite family over for dinner, I'm known as the cook.
My cooking tragedies
Oooh I've had many, many. Too many to name, in fact. My first apple pie was a disgrace.
