I'm a stay at home Mom who loves to cook. When my girls were little I made things that were fast and easy and required little to no prep. Now, well, I love complicated things that are tasty and maybe take a little bit longer but are soooooo worth it. I love to cook for my family. There is no feeling in the world like the one you feel when your family sits down for dinner and all you hear is oooooh and ahhhhh !!! Pure Bliss.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook always certainly involve pasta. My nickname growing up was "Spaghetti" and it remains one of my favorite foods today. My husband is 100% Italian and so he absolutely loves anything pasta. Anything I make with Pasta has him falling in love with me all over again. LOL !!! I love to bake with my girls and I am trying to instill in them a love of cooking and I think they are catching on.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies. We always have a good time making Christmas cookies and even have more fun decorating them. We have tons of photos of Christmas cookies soooo delicately decorated. Paula Dean's corn casserole is a tradition for Thanksgiving. Every Thanksgiving. My mother in law taught my husband how to make THE best homemade Pizza EVER and he has since made it with each one of our girls. A tradition that I hope lasts forever. Homemade Pizza is absolutely the best. I am only the sous chef on these days but I get to do alot of the sampling. Which is secretly the best part.
My cooking triumphs
When my husband and I purchased our first house we had to gut the entire house and redo it from top to bottom. We had many, many helpers who sometimes gave up their vacation time to help us finish the house so that is was livable. As a thank you, I cooked for over 40 people. All my own. All from scratch. It was a labor of love for sure and I enjoyed every minute of it.
My cooking tragedies
I can't remember exactly WHAT it was but my husband,(we were only married a few months at this point), kindly asked me to not make it again. He was so sweet and I knew it was just awful but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. It was over 20 years ago. That I remember.
