Chocolate Syrup Ice Cream

This ice cream was very rich and easy to make. I mixed the ingredients and chilled them in the fridge for a few hours then processed in my ice cream maker. Next time I plan to leave out one can of the milk and add a pinch of salt to cut through some of the sweetness.

Frozen Strawberry Yogurt

Very delicious. My kids love this, I will be making again soon and doubling the recipe. It is not overly sweet like a lot of frozen yogurts.

Easy Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Cookies

These were delicious. The taste reminded me of a peanut butter and honey sandwich. I only gave it 4 stars because the dough was sticky, even after refrigerating it overnight. I used natural peanut butter for the cookies. Next time I plan to omit the butter entirely.

Sesame Shrimp Stir-Fry

This was wonderful. I did make a few changes. I substituted oyster sauce for teriyaki sauce, arrowroot powder for cornstarch, and used safflower oil for the cooking oil. I added a little sesame oil to the chicken broth (I used low sodium broth). I also omitted the salt.

This is a good basic recipe. I am thinking of adding cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger to it next time to make a spiced hot chocolate mix.

Cinnamon Apple Syrup

This was great. I served it over pumpkin pancakes and it was a hit for supper. I pureed the leftover syrup and stirred it into oatmeal the next morning and I had another hit.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

I only gave this recipe 3 stars because it was bland. It is a good basic recipe but we have to add extra jalapenos, garlic, spices (pepper, red pepper flakes, cumin, etc) and onion. Edited to add that the last time I made them I used an entire unseeded jalapeno and we all enjoyed them much better.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

This was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I both enjoyed this dish very much. I would suggest using brown rice instead of the white in the recipe though, but that is just our personal preference.

Lazygirl's Ground Turkey Stroganoff
