I followed the directions to a T and it was great. used for a black forest cake- poured liqueur on each layer, then filled with whipped cream and canned black cherries. Finished by icing with whipped cream. All my coworkers loved it! I will be using this recipe often.

This recipe as directed is worth 3 stars. I got it to 5 stars by using these ingredients with my basic poundcake technique instead. Cream the butter and sugar, alternate adding the eggs & eggnog with the dry ingredients, ending with liquids. Its very yummy with dried cranberries or dried cherries added. I also used spiced rum, about 1/2 cup.

This is a good basic recipe. A friend requested chocolate chip cookies without nuts, something I haven't made in about 10 years. This is the third recipe I tried, and the only one good enough to keep. Definitely a keeper.
