About this Cook
I'm a Certified Massage Therapist at a luxury Spa and a student in an Esthetician program. I love to cook and try new recipes. This is one of my favorite websites for tried and true recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts are my forte! I'm the person who is always asked to bring something yummy for dessert at potlucks, parties and functions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up in rural Iowa before moving to Colorado...my Grammy, a farmers wife, could whip up dinner out of the very basic ingredients she had in her kitchen. Our dinner staple was always homemade noodles. She made the best ones. She is now gone and I'm trying to keep her recipes going.
My cooking triumphs
Too many to count~
My cooking tragedies
The first mealoaf I tried to make my husband when married at 19..it was AWFUL and he ate every bite and asked for seconds so he wouldn't hurt my feelings.

Beer and Brown Sugar Steak Marinade
Killer marinade...I dislike dark beers but works well with the other ingredients. I marinated ribeyes overnight in the mixture...YUMMY!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies I
I've been making these type of cookies for years and they're always a favorite of my kids...I don't care for the pumpkin chocolate combo so I substitute the chocolate chips for cinnamon baking chips...the combination is perfect and much better than the chocolate!

German Lasagna
This recipe is delicious! I thought the sauerkraut would be overwhelming but it has a really nice balance. I prepared exactly as directed and it wasn't dry on the top as others had noted! Yummy!
