Banana Bread with a Crunch

About this Cook
I'm just a guy who likes to cook as a hobby. I watch a lot of cooking reality TV (my favorite has to be Top Chef) and I like to dabble in trying different recipes and tweaking them to my own tastes.
My favorite things to cook
I am a big fan of pasta dishes, so I have tried on occasion to experiment with those. I also like doing some baking on the side as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am heavily influenced by my father, who has always been in the kitchen since I was little. He like to cook Chinese and Italian dishes, so a bit of that has rubbed off on me.
My cooking triumphs
Once was when I managed to cook a double-layer cake with frosting. It was quite excellent (although quite fattening at the same time). Another was when I made the best homemade bacon cheeseburgers by adapting my own little recipe. That was a great day....
My cooking tragedies
I do not know if you would consider it "cooking" really, but when I was eight, I took the leftover kernels from the popcorn bag and threw them in a plastic bowl, put them in the microwave, and hit the popcorn setting again, in hopes to grabbing some extra popcorn. Needless to say, the plastic bowl melted and it was a lesson that I would not ever forget.

Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich
Haven't thought of this flavor combination before, but this really makes a regular peanut butter sandwich taste great. The slight modification I used was to put a little bit of agave nectar (or regular honey will do) on the bottom of the pan while cooking to give the bread a little sweet outer crust. Be careful, though, as this makes the bread easier to burn so watch it when you're cooking.

Mom's Island Treasures
These cookies were absolutely delicious. They were very tasty and moist (most of which was probably attributed to the coconut in the batter). The only thing that I noticed was that the batter was tough by the time I added in all the flour, so it made it harder for me to make it into balls to put onto the pan. But aside from that, these were the perfect cookies that I would definitely make again.

Chris' Bay Area Burger
This was an absolutely delicious burger that everyone in my family enjoyed. The mix of spices made for an interesting taste, and I think that I could possibly add more ingredients to the meat for it to taste even better. This time, I added about two tablespoons of diced onions to the pound of meat that I had. It certainly tasted quite delicious. Once again, a spot-on burger recipe that you can't go wrong with.
