Bee Sting Cake (Bienenstich) II
About this Cook
I am married to a wonderful man for 25 years and have 2 beautiful girls in college. I love cooking so much that I cook 6 nights a week and love to bake on Sundays. My father was a cook in the US Navy for 27 years. I could remember helping him cook since I was 5 years old. I loved to see him make Charlotte Russe or Baked Alaska. My youngest daughter is studying to become a pastry chef. Hopefully she can open up her own bakery and I could help her for free!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make traditional filipino food like adobo, pancit and lumpia. Everyone loves it. My husband loves my menudo. He says it is very close to his mother's so it must be good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking tradition is making Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas cookies with my girls. My husband's job is to transfer the turkey to the cooler filled with brine and leave the cooler on the deck outside all night.
My cooking triumphs
My recent triumph is my chicken massaman curry. I added potatoes, bell peppers, carrots and cabbage. I've had similar curry at a favorite Thai restaurant and wanted to imitate it and boy was it spot on! My most called for dessert is a Deep Chocolate Mocha Torte. This cake is so moist and rich because each cake layer is brushed with espresso and filled with a sweet mascarpone filling then covered in ganache. It is to die for.
My cooking tragedies
I would love to make my own sourdough bread and croissants but I have failed at every attempt. I will keep trying though since failure is not an option.

Tiramisu I
This recipe was exactly how I remembered, easy, rich and delicious! I made double espresso coffee so the flavor was on point. Thanks for the recipe. Definately a keeper.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts
These doughnuts were exactly what I wanted in a doughnut. Not too yeasty, not too cakey. Everyone loved them. Thank you for this great recipe!
