About this Cook
I am marries to a wonderful woman and have 2 daughters and 1 grand daughter. My mother always allowed us to experiment in the kitchen. We had a wide variety of food and a large family so I learned to enjoy time spent at the table. The one exception to my likes is okra! I'm now retired and appreciate spending extra time in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I love a good chili or a (not overcooked) chicken dish. I love to experiment with new concoctions of my own.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We all band together on the holidays. Each brining the dish they are most proud of and exchange recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Chicken a la chucky: It came about when I didn't have all the ingredients of the recipes I wanted to try so I mixed and matched ingredents. It's a lovely dish cooked in a skillet with a great wine and veggie sauce.
My cooking tragedies
Oh! I don't even like to think about these. Once in a while what sounds good can end up in the garbage.

Blueberry Coffee Cake
I agree with Annie but instead of a larger pan I reduced the temp. to 375 and increased the cooking time until done

Emily's Famous Chili
Excellent recipe! Myself, I really like the taste of tobasco but this recipe was very tasty and pleased all my friends. As with many dishes like this one it is even better the next day. but you may need to add hot sauce the more it cookes.
