About this Cook
Dog lover...beach comber... quilter... plant lover...and yard work lover...and of course.. I LOVE TO COOK, and try new things! Grammy x 2 and love my family to infinity and beyond! Life is good!
My favorite things to cook
Wow... this is hard. I can't pick one thing. I love to put together great meals for family/friends. But... I love to experiment on everyone too!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Turkey soup from the left over holiday turkey. Killer Caramel popcorn at Halloween.
My cooking triumphs
Prime Rib to perfection
My cooking tragedies
The worst EVER was A "Carrot soup" recipe I tried from a morning news show! Gad... it was ABSOLUTELY horrid! I could not salvage it no matter WHAT I DID! There had to have been a misprint on their ingredients list. My kids were under 10 when this happened...(they are grown now) and they STILL JOKE about that one. It was indeed THAT BAD!

Taco Seasoning I
OHHHH MYYYY!! This is OFF THE CHARTS GOOD (AND WAY EASY). I only made 2 substitutions after the meat was browned and drained. In the recipe ingredients I replaced the normal black pepper with ground Ancho Chili Pepper and I added about 1/2 t. liquid smoke to the simmering meat. It flavored the meat as deeeelish as any restaurant burritos I've even eaten!

Never Fail Biscuits
DEEEEELISH!!!! I made them exactly according to directions. I added a little Land O Lakes "Parmesan & Herb" blend to the flour (that I sprinkled on the board prior to shaping/cutting), and baked them on a brick stone. EXCELLENT with very little effort. My kind of recipe!

Dad's Hamburger Gravy
Very good for that moment when you realize you have very little in the house to make a decent dinner. My hubby said it tasted like his mom's hamburger gravy.. so that's the ultimate compliment for a rib stickin' recipe like this! We will make it again..
