About this Cook
My fabulous hubby and I have been married for going on 20 years. The Lord has blessed us with 2 precious daughters and our dog, Flower. We live on five acres and are spoiled by all the fruits and vegetables it produces. I love to experiment in the kitchen and try to make foods healthier (and of course, tastier).
My favorite things to cook
Desserts and Breads! My freezer is my (inanimate) best friend.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Birthdays are always centered around a theme at our house. We love to pick a theme and think of all the creative foods we can make for the event. The safari theme was definitely one of the best! You can make a lot of animals out of food! Holidays are also a treat with our many friends and family to celebrate it with.
My cooking triumphs
I love to cook with my girlfriends. One day my girlfriend Bridget and I made almost 60 meals in my little kitchen. At the end of the day we split up the meals between us and we each went home with almost a month’s worth of meals! It was great.
My cooking tragedies
Almost too many to count! When my husband and I were first married, we ate spaghetti nearly every day, three times a day, for one year. We ate fried spaghetti for breakfast, as a sandwich, on toast, leftovers for lunch and I made a new batch for dinner. Ugh! It took him a long time to eat spaghetti again after that! However, it is still one of my favorites (except now I prefer to make my own sauce and noodles (although, I have to admit, it’s really hard to beat Prego’s spaghetti sauce after its simmered in a Crockpot all day!). Yum!

Apple Loaf
These changes make the bread great! Use 2 cups apple pulp, instead of shredded apples. Add 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp cloves. Use 3/4 cup applesauce instead of butter.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
Disappointing, considering all the rave reviews. The recipe calls for the cups to be filled to the top, but they should be 2/3 filled instead, the muffin batter spills over too much. Also, the topping is not very good. Brown sugar might make them better. This recipe makes a lot of topping, so the quantity could be cut down quite a bit. Thugh the batter is nice and thick and easy to use, I will look for a different recipe. Perhaps omitting the topping all together would be good.
