Pumpkin Cheesecake II

I'll give it 5 because everyone liked it so much. I'm not a big pumpkin pie fan so I wasn't as excited, but everyone else loved it. It's a pretty easy recipe. It looks more complicated than it really is. Just follow the steps and it comes out great.

Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

This is a lot of work for a mediocre dry cake. My house full of teenagers wouldn't even eat it. The frosting was pretty good.

Beignets

Really pretty easy to make, and my house full of teenagers loved it. I was more like meh. Kind of tasted like fried bread and less like a doughnut to me. I'll make it again because it's so easy and the kids were so happy. Might try cinnamon with the powedered sugar.

Cake Batter Ice Cream

First time we made it we all thought it was great. A couple weeks later I made it again and the response was more tepid. It's easy enough to make and comes out exactly as advertised. It's ok ice cream, but I think I'll keep looking for a recipe I really like.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

This was really good. It takes a little while to make even with the boxed cake recipe, but it was fun. I had trouble with the topping, it never seemed to get fluffy enough and ran off at the cake a little. I didn't want to beat it too long, but probably needed to go longer. It seemed funny that my teenage son didn't like the coffee in it, because he is the only person in my family that drinks coffee. The recipe to make mascarpone I found in the reviews helped, because you can't buy it in the small town I live in. I will be making this again, often.

Mexican Wedding Cookies

These cookies ROCK. They were so good and so easy to make. I used cashews instead of almonds because I like them better. Tasted great. I will make these again often.

Heavenly White Cake

Italian Cream Cake I

This is my wife's favorite cake I make. I have made it several times now and always comes out perfect. I use pecans instead of walnuts (I hate walnuts). Very moist.

Chile Verde II

Very good recipe. I made it great the first time and had never bought a tomatillo before in my life. My wife is mexican and even she liked it a lot. I used a lot less chicken stock (1 quart) and a little less meat, but all the chiles.

Amazing Southwest Cilantro Lime Mango Grilled Chicken Sandwiches

This is a lot of work, but worth it. My wife had serious doubts about it when I was working, but she loved it when we were done. I want to try it as a wrap or as a quesadilla with the mango on top maybe. Pretty messy to eat too. I will use the marinade for chicken often. I made it a second time as a filler during a rib cookoff and this time I made it as a quesadilla. It worked great and got rave reviews. Everyone liked it better than any of the ribs. The tortillas were a lot easier to work with than the french bread. The lime-mayo helped hold it all together.

Yummy Quiche

Very simple for a basic cook like me. I used half again the measurements and made 2 with a little to spare. Needed a little more oommph. I think a good dose of garlic would help. Maybe some jalepeno too. Family all liked it.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Easy to follow and easy to make. My wife didn't like it. I thought it needed more salt. I will try butter flavored shortening next time. I used it for a quiche and am planning a chicken pot pie next.

New York Cheesecake III

I am fairly new to cooking and this was the first time I tried making a cheesecake (I didn't even know what a springform pan was before I read this). I didn't mix the cream cheese well enough so it came out a little bit lumpy and the center was a little runny, but otherwise it came out great and I was really impressed. It was really easy. The crust came out really good, but was a little thick. I will be making this again very soon.
