About this Cook

My favorite things to cook
creative healthy food with fresh ingredients
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom made the best quiches and her lasagna was famous. We also made traditional French tartes at Christmas time.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking the perfect spicy gumbo. Baking a spectacular three layer carrot cake from scratch! Learning how to cook any kind of seafood. practice makes perfect!
My cooking tragedies
attempted to make black bean soup with rice in it. used sushi rice which turned the soup into thick, mushy sludge. tasted good but the texture was waaay off!

Stuffed Leg of Lamb
Excellent lamb recipe. Easily adapted to gluten free (I used a mix of brown rice flour and potato starch). The sesame oil really adds a nice flavor and the presentation is gorgeous.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce
Great, easy alfredo. We had all of the ingredients so it was a snap. We did use fresh garlic and a pinch of nutmeg. Served over brown rice pasta with mushroom turkey meatballs.

Homemade Italian Turkey Sausage
Really easy and great for those who have food intolerances. We omit the sugar and add veggies like bell peppers. Love the fennel seeds and a bit of crushed red pepper.
