About this Cook
I am a high school teacher and I coach golf, basketball, and softball. I enjoy being outside and have taken up cooking and baking as a new hobby.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and I enjoy pasta dishes too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I was never allowed in the kitchen! I am completely new to this and look forward to making my own traditions, hopefully with my own children someday.
My cooking triumphs
Making my first buttercream fondant! It was delicious and quite an experience. The whole cake took me about 5 hours but it turned out great for my first time; a little greasy, but still tasty. I found the recipe for it here on allrecipes.
My cooking tragedies
Burning garlic is never fun- the smell stays in the kitchen for a long time.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant
I am just starting to get into baking and cooking as a new hobbie. I have been researching the use of fondant and came across this recipe. I made my first cake today using the fondant and it came out great (for my first time). My only complaint is that it was a little greasy and it was a little cracky. Can anyone tell me how to smooth it out and make it less greasy? Thanks!
