About this Cook
I work to support my cooking habit.
My favorite things to cook
"Eastern European comfort food"; Dad was Montenegrin, Mum was Croatian, grandfather was a commercial fisherman. Take it from there. My cooking is based on the "five food groups": garlic, olive oil, herbs, wine, and either pasta, polenta or risotto.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Marathon sessions making cabbage rolls. Making triple chocolate mousse cake every year for my daughter's birthday.
My cooking triumphs
Perfect risotto!
My cooking tragedies
Trying to make dessert; the chilled (which became frozen) orange creme caramels are the best example. When one's spouse is a pastry magician, one just had better give up on the sweets.

Afghan Beef Raviolis (Mantwo)
Love the tastes, textures and colours. I, too, boiled the raviolis for 4 minutes, steaming 2 for comparison, and as long as you drain them well it's fine. Next time will try lamb.
