A slight twist.
About this Cook
I'm a mother of 3 that loves to bake, and fortunately my hubby loves to sample my creations.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake desserts and morning breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm really enjoying the tradition I'm creating of fixing my children's birthday cakes to incorporate the food season they were born in. Sept. means apple or pumpkin for my oldest daughter, Nov. is pumpkin or cranberries for my son, and my baby girl is Jan. so cranberries or citrus. So far so good.
My cooking triumphs
Making Baked Alaska for my hubby's b-day.
My cooking tragedies
When my fudge seized up and gingerbread men, still looking for a good recipe.

Beer Batter Waffles
Pretty darn good. AND I got to have the fun of shocking everyone as to the main ingredient. A side note... its a great way to use up beer that no one liked.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish
Way to much filling and desperately in need of an egg to help it set up. My husband and I love cheese danishes, so this year as a treat between his b-day and Mother's day (same weekend) he made these with the kids. Unfortunately I should have read more reviews before printing it off and handing it to him (and yes, he can cook). If you make this I highly recommend you cut back on the sugar, add 1 egg to the filling, and decrease the filling by half. Good luck to you.

Chocolate Pound Cake III
Absolutely delicious! Everyone loved it. So very moist and chocolaty. I used dutch processed cocoa and 1/4 c coffee rather than water and grounds. I baked it in little individual molds for about 30 minutes.
