About this Cook
I enjoy gardening, mostly herbs and vegetables, working-out, camping, entertaining, and cooking, of course. I have 2 grown children and a step-son. I will soon have a new kitchen, and I am so excited. I can't stop looking at kitchen books and magazines for ideas. I love dry red wine and spicy food, and cooking with ingredients from my own garden.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking Thai, Greek and Indian food, and vegetarian dishes and just about anything Hot & Spicy! I love trying new recipes, new gadgets, new ingredients. Sushi is on my to-do list, Along with bread making and canning.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I can't say that my family really has any. Both my children like to cook which makes me happy. My step-son & I have a cookie-baking day a few weeks before Christmas. We listen to music and bake most of the day.
My cooking triumphs
My daughter refers to my Thai soup as "Crack Soup", because its addicting. I have been told, "for a vegetarian you sure know how to cook meat" I made Habenero Pepper jelly with peppers from my garden...and it is delicious and well worth all the work.
My cooking tragedies
I somehow ruined Kahlua brownies. When I tried to make them for a football party, they completely flopped. We picked up ice-cream sandwiches on the way to the party. I started a small oven fire while browning a crunchy topping for salad. My son was in 1st grade at the time and drew a picture in school of my oven with flames shooting out of it.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
Great! I just made this for a group of people and it got rave reviews. I served on a kaiser roll with a slice of provolone.

Tracy's Tomato Artichoke Rice Salad
Yum! I just tried this for the first time, and its a keeper. I only had a jar of regular un-marinated artichokes, so I needed to add a little greek dressing. I also added some pine nuts as suggested by someone's review. I am planning to make this again, and soon.

Grilled Asparagus Salad
Delicious!! Quick, easy and wonderful. I added arugula to the spinach, which added a bit more flavor. I will be making this again and again. Thanks for a great salad recipe.
