About this Cook
As most people on this site, I love to cook. I am also an avid outdoorswoman and love to fish, camp, hike, geocash, fourwheel, etc. I have the most wonderful boyfriend who I make test-try all my new recipies, but he hasn't complained...so far!!
My favorite things to cook
I really like trying new things with meat and pasta. I am a spurr of the moment type of cook and end up throwing in anything I think will taste good. I also never measure things...heehee. I've only had a couple mess ups so far so I guess I am doing pretty good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hmmmmm....?
My cooking triumphs
My boyfriend and I made a full chicken the night before Thanksgiving 2007. We used a blend of spices that I got off this site and threw in a few things of our own. My boyfriend then had the brilliant idea of injecting it with apple cider/spice mix as it was cooking instead of basting it, and it turned out AMAZING! We ate just about every bit of the bird that night.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made a homemade pie I think that I forgot to add crisco or something in the crust because when I tried to cut it it was so hard I could have pounded nails with it! The filling turned out really good though.

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf
VERY GOOD! I was surprised at how good this meatloaf actually turned out. I did add some minced green pepper and garlic as well as all spice and rosemary and it gave it a perfect touch. As per others suggestions I also added brown sugar to the glaze. I most certainly will be making this again soon!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts
WE LOVED THEM! We love brussel sprouts to begin with and are always looking for new ways to cook them and this one really hit home. I know this recipe doesn't need another 5 start rating but I am giving it one anyways.

Spaghetti with Garlic and Basil
This recipe was great! I did alter it a bit though. I added more garlic than the recipie called for and I sauted half of and and left the rest fresh. I also added a half a tablespoon of fresh lime juice and it gave it just the kick it was missing.
