Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
The best pancakes I've ever made! I wasn't a big fan of them plain, but I topped them with a handful of butterscotch chips right after they came off the griddle, then added whipped cream and caramel syrup. They were awesome! Tasted just like the butterscotch rocks pancakes at IHOP. This one's a keeper!

Mom's Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
Simple and delicious. Adds just a hint more flavor to the traditional grilled cheese. I used Kraft singles with shredded mild cheddar cheese and parmesan. I thought the finished result would be chewier, but it turned out perfect. Will definitely make again.

Wow! These were incredible! The apples nearly dissolved into the pastry. I didn't change a thing. Will definitely make again!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
So good.. so easy. I make this often, and the only change I make is to melt some swiss or provolone cheese on top of the rolls in the oven. I usually use Bud Light beer. This recipe's a keeper! Try it!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
Delicious! The only changes I made was to substitute penne pasta for the ziti ( I didn't have any on hand)and I only made half and cooked it in an 8x8 pan. I just used regular Prego sauce. My husband absolutely loves his mom's lasagna - and he said this was better and requested that I add it to the "favorite" recipes! Thank you Colleen! Update: I've made this with penne pasta and ziti, and I actually prefer the penne. It's not a huge difference, but the sauce sticks to the ridges of the penne, while it tends to slide right off of the ziti. Still delicious either way! Just make sure you cover the pan while baking or it will dry out.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
Wow! This is great! I halved the recipe, and defrosted the chicken first. I used Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce, amd cooked the chicken on high for 1 1/2 hours, then shredded it, stirred it all up and let it cook for another hour. It was great on a baked potato. Will definitely make again!

Honey Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
This is my husband's favorite recipe, and it's wonderful. I only changed a few things. I don't understand the point of using reduced sodium soy sauce, and then adding salt. Just use regular soy sauce. Also, I use half a package each of frozen broccoli and peppers instead of the frozen broccoli stir fry. You can also use a pepper/onion mix. Serve it over brown rice.

I've been making these for years. They're even easier if you make them in the microwave. It's a great quick recipe that uses ingredients I always have on hand.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
My new favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe!! These are awesome. I double the recipe and bake in a 13x9 inch pan for 28 minutes until it's a nice golden brown on top. They turn out thick and chewy & delicious, and they disappear every time I make them. I undercooked them once on accident, and they still tasted good, but were very gooey.

My husband and I didn't like these at all. The flavor and texture were both really weird. Not making again.

Bachelor Grilled Cheese

I've known about this trick since my college days. Two pieces of cheese always seemed too cheesy to me - we only used 1. In our day, we called it "ghetto grilled cheese" and it worked great.
