My husband is from Veracruz Mexico, and has been making this for years. We all love it, and I am glad to see it here. He uses all the ingedients listed, plus adds clamato juice and fine chopped onion. Great Recipe!!! Thank you for listing it!!

I followed the recipe, and they did turn out beautifully. The true flavor does not come out til the next day as said by author. I look forward to makeing them again and trying some of the suggestions give by others. Like that ones for less calories, because these are to good to eat just one!

Wonderful!! I did take some of the suggestions given and added more spices, beef broth instead of water, and red pepper flakes. I also inserted garlic slices into the meat itself. Family and friends loved it, and I will be making this dish again and again. Oh...I left out the veggies, and served with rice and black beans instead.
