Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
Meatballs only: very good. I would add more seasoning for taste i.e onion powder, salt, and more garlic. I would never have thought to cook them in the sauce. I use canned sauce, despite everyone's claim that the sauce is so good. I have found canned sauce, when added to, is quite delicious.

Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas

Good, but I think too much cilantro is used. Plus, mine wasn't very spicy at all. The sauce had a good flavor though.

Spicy Lime Grilled Shrimp

Way too spicy, and I like hot food. Cut the Cajun seasoning in half (1.5 tbsp.)and it should be perfect.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

I thought I would have trouble keeping the chicken together and the cheese inside, but it was really very easy! I used toothpicks because I couldn't find cooking string. Flavor was very good!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
Has a good flavor, although maybe a little too much flour flavor. Kinda crumbly, too. Mine are cooling right now. The first one I tried was still warm and crumbled a bit. But they do melt in your mouth. I added almond extract for extra flavor and extra sugar too.

These are easy to make, and hard to find at restaurants. So make it home for a Sunday brunch. They are sooo delicious.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Very good. Mine took almost 10 more minutes to cook than the box said. Used yellow cake mix and pineapple juice from can. Didn't have cast iron skillet. Used 13x9 dish.

Fiesta Chicken and Rice Bake

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
I liked it, but my husband didn't. He thought 1) it was too spicy and 2)it would be better as a side dish. I kind of agree with #2. Take out the chicken and you've got an awesome rice side.

I made these for a baby shower. The guests said they were good. They didn't look good though. If I make them again, I will make them into little sandwiches.

I made these for a baby shower last weekend. Everyone loved them! I made them exactly as the recipe said. No problems. They smelled great after they came out of the oven.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
I noticed the instructions are not in the right order. It tells you to heat the oil in the first step. Then in the second step you are to refrigerate your wings for an hour?? What about the oil? Someone needs to fix that!

I got rave reviews for this pie! It does have to cook longer...almost an hour total I think.

Greek Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
4 stars for taste. The dough is so sticky it was hard to make shapes. I made a few S's and J's for my name and my husband and son's names. Those were hard enough. I made the rest into ball shapes. I even tried the powdered sugar on my hands trick that others mentioned, but that really didn't help much. It's just a very sticky dough. I might try a cake decorating tool next time.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
Excellent and so easy to make. Tastes kind of like a custard. I let my milk mixture soak in the cake for about 24 hours. I added the whipped cream a few hours before serving to let it set. Then I added fresh strawberries on top. Warning: very sweet!

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

Just a tip for those of you who are worried about the pudding mix: my mom makes a fabulous fruit dip using powdered vanilla pudding mix and sour cream. You just mix the two together. No need to prepare the pudding. It mixes into the sour cream perfectly. Delicious and would be great with this recipe.
