About this Cook
I teach 5th grade! I love to cook and bake. I wish I had time to do more of each.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything. I love soups, and chops, chicken and breakfast foods. The only thing I don't cook is fish because I don't eat it. Other than that it seems to be whatever I am cooking at the time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was young I would pull a chair up to the counter and help my mom cook. I have been able to pick up on my mom's wonderful cooking by watching and helping when I was little. My mom and I still cook together.
My cooking triumphs
I made an entire Thanksgiving dinner with homemade cranberry stuffing a few years ago. Everything was delicious.
My cooking tragedies
We have a huge party every year for the 4th of July. I had the entire menu planned out and as I was preparing everything the day before my sister was keeping me company in the kitchen. I was making Poormans Perogies and we were talking about how we prepare them. My sister told me she added some onions and butter right into her mashed potatoes. I thought that was a good idea and decided to do it too. Well, we kept talking and cooking all day. The next day we set out all the food and when everyone tired the poormans perogies they kept saying they tasted different. I finally scooped some out and realized I forgot to add the potatoes. I didn't even cook them the day before when we were going on and on about how best to prepare them.

Pork Roast With The World's Best Pork Loin Rub
I mixed this up on a Tuesday and we loved it so much we had another pork roast on Saturday of the same week. We have roasted the pork roast in the oven and also tried it on a rotisserie. They are both so so delicious. It's a little spicy but I like that. In the last month we have had it 4 times and normally we only have pork roast about once a month. Delicious!!
