About this Cook
I've been married to the best guy around for about 2 1/2 years now and we have a dog that is a shepard mix. My husband really likes my new found love of cooking:) We're eating a lot less pizza and ramen noodles. I've really come to love this site! I'm pretty obsessed with it actually. It has helped me to plan ahead. I like to go through the recipies here and choose what I'll fix for the week, grocery shop, and then start cooking!
My favorite things to cook
I love recipies that have very simple ingrediants and are easy to prepare, but taste like there must be something pretty special in it! I love trying new things on this site. It's neat to be able to get recipies from all over the country. It keeps things interesting.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well my grandma lives in her kitchen. In fact I don't think I've seen her in any other room in the house! lol She is the best cook. A lot of the time she doesn't measure things but just "throws in this, that, and the other thing" It always comes out great! She has taught my sisters and I lot of different things in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
My husband and I had BOTH sides of our family travel from Minnesota to Nebraska to spend Thanksgiving together. Needless to say I was pretty nervous. I made a good chunk of the food and people actually thought it was good! I was very happy, hard work and planning always pays off:)
My cooking tragedies
I made a cake from scratch for my best friends baby shower and it was so nasty!! I have no idea what went wrong, but ewwww?!?! I chucked it and headed for Walmart and just bought a cake instead. Oh well.

Saucy Beef Casserole
This is so simple and real hearty. So easy it's a new staple. I added some fresh cut green beans and snap peas from the garden and it turned out great. Adding any veggie would be good. Can't go wrong
