About this Cook
I've been a single mom for 26 years and now an empty nester. Finding new recipes to try is kinda fun.
My favorite things to cook
I'm probably better at desserts for some reason, but I like trying new stuff of any kind or culture.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and grandma were both cooks from the south. What a blessing!
My cooking triumphs
I finally conquered a great pie crust and rice is never a problem for me. I seem to be better at making desserts even though they are the least that I need!
My cooking tragedies
In my young days, I used liquid smoke for the first and ONLY time. I added it to some gravy - way too much! YUCK!!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style
This was delicious! Very rich. Don't expect it to stay around long.

Libby's(R) Pumpkin Cheesecake
I didn't get as much pumpkin flavor as I expected. It was still good though.

Kentucky Banana Pudding
I like this recipe. It's nice and creamy from the evaporated milk, and a lot easier than making the pudding from scratch. I topped it with marshmallows and browned them in the oven under the broiler for a couple minutes. Delicious!
