About this Cook
I am a postgraduate student living in a big house with 9 other students. We take turns cooking dinner for the whole group, which means that I only cook about every 2 1/2 weeks! We're a very diverse international bunch, and some are more set in their tastes than others, so I have to strike a balance between being creative with my cooking and not putting off my diners with strange new combinations. I love having a captive audience for my culinary experiments -- it's much more fun cooking for others than for myself alone.
My favorite things to cook
I like to keep things interesting but not to stress myself out with excessively complicated recipes. I love spicy food and am always in the mood for a good curry or anything Mexican. I often fall back on making pasta and have been challenging myself to make more sophisticated pasta dishes.
My cooking triumphs
Some recent favourites among my housemates have been my cornbread, beef stroganoff, and puppy chow. My family loves my sweet breads, especially pumpkin chocolate chip and cranberry orange.

Pumpkin Pie Spice II
This is a great money and hassle saver. I've compared lots of pumpkin pie spice recipes, and I like the relatively high proportion of cinnamon in this one; personally, I don't like to be overpowered by nutmeg or ginger. I used this to make pumpkin cranberry bread, and it turned out great.

Libby's(R) Pumpkin Cranberry Bread
This is a great holiday bread! It turned out nice and moist. Next time, I'll definitely increase the cranberries, maybe to 1 1/2 cups. Chopped walnuts would be a nice addition, too.

Apple-Cranberry Crisp
This was heavenly! I loved the rich, tangy sauce that formed underneath, and the cranberries made it so pretty. Many reviewers have suggested making more of the topping, but I disagree; the fruit is the main event here, and I thought the proportions were just right.
