This was delicious. My daughter loved it and so did my husband. I used brown sugar instead of white sugar. Once the mixture got thick I gave it a taste and I was in heaven. It reminded me of creamy pudding. Which gave me many new ideas thank you. Tonight I will be using this recipe again but the only thing I will do differently is I will mix cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg and allspice in the mixture. Then once it cools slightly I'm going to fold the apples in the mixture and pour it onto the pie crust, and use egg yolk and cream(egg wash) as a glaze. Thank you again for this creamy filling.

All I can say is OMG!! This is totally superb. The taste is outstanding!!! I just baked my second apple pie. This pie crust was way better than my first. The only ever so slight change I did was use both butter and shortening and I kept my dough in the fridge for an hour. I recommend this recipe to anyone wanting the perfect and tasty pie crust. This will be my crust for years to come.

This was great and easy to make the only thing I did differently was I did half shortening and half butter. Then I placed the pie dough in the freezer while I prepared the apple pie filling. This was my first attempt at making my own apple pie and crust. Thank you very much. My daughter and husband were impressed with the tasty flaky flavored pie crust.
