We really enjoyed these using homemade biscuits instead of boughten. Great breakfast on the go!

I was really, very disappointed in this bland recipe. Not nearly what I hoped for.

I had a large cured ham, and this was a delicious compliment. I was really pleased with this recipe!

Easy BBQ Flank Steak with Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
I slightly altered the marinade (used teriyaki sauce instead of soy sauce), but really enjoyed the flavor! My husband hunts, so I used deer steak instead, and couldn't taste any gamey flavor. Thanks!

Adam's Dirt Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
This is a great use for almost-nearly stale cookies that you aren't ready to throw out, but are tired of eating. The dirt cookies turned out great. Don't be afraid to cut way back on the butter. With just 1/2 a cup, the cookies were still really good, although a bit crunchier than I imagine the original version would be.

I substitute milk for the cream, but it's still extremely creamy and delicious!

Pain au Chocolat (Chocolate-filled Croissant)

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
I've tried to make Pain au Chocolat before with other recipes, but they were too buttery and too much hassle. This recipe was wonderful! I only changed the amount of chocolate used to fill the croissants--only 10 oz of chopped chocolate. It was plenty chocolaty, and quite delicious. My husband and I, who recently returned from a vacation in Europe and there fell in love with the chocolate-filled croissants, really enjoyed this recipe. Thanks!

Grandma Sal's Peach Kuchen

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
This was a nice change of pace as far as peach desserts are concerned. My husband and I really enjoyed it, though I plan on making these adjustments in the future: Instead of sprinkling the peaches with the sugar and cinnamon, I will mix these into the custard. The custard, though delicious, needs that bit of sweetness in my opinion. I also added a bit of nutmeg, as I feel all custards should have a bit of nutmeg. I made this recipe in a springform pan, and it turned out wonderfully!

Mom's Traditional Creamed Onions

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
I had high hopes for this recipe, but it's just somewhat bland. I added a bit of garlic powder, but still kind of boring. Another reviewer suggested using a bit of chedder and topping with crushed buttery crackers, then baking, and I will probably try that with the ample leftovers I have.

Date Flecked Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
I loved this recipe! I'm always on the lookout for healthy, fresh muffin recipes and I was really pleased to find this one with a whole pureed orange in it. I altered the recipe a little to cut down on fat (I doubled the recipe, but used the same amount of butter and added some applesauce to keep it from drying out). I'm sure the original would have been just as scrumptious, but here's what I did for a double recipe: 2 oranges 2 eggs 1/2 cup margarine 1 cup 2% milk 1 cup raisins 3 1/2 cup flour 1 cup sugar 2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp ginger 1 tsp cloves 3/4 cup applesauce

Delicious Pineapple Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
Actually, I was a bit disappointed with these. There were so many rave reviews, while I felt they were just "good." They were pretty, but the muffin itself was a bit blah. I am willing to take the blame on this one, as I am infamous for following recipes and getting abnormal results. I'd make these again if I had the excess pineapple laying around the house that I did this time, but I probably wouldn't make them with the intention to impress anyone. Okay. That's all.

Chocolate Surprise Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
I've made these a couple times now, and everyone has absolutely loved them. Just be careful how full you fill the muffin tin cups, because they rise pretty good. It's probably my own fault for filling them 3/4 full, THEN adding the "surprise" filling which (surprise!) fills the cups nearly completely. Still, lovely recipe.
