About this Cook
Im 22 and a true southern girl. My dad is an amazing cook who loves to try new things ALL the time (thats where i get it), so he's my favorite to cook with. I have a two year old son who will eat anything and that makes me happy. He loves gumbo and steak the best! Go figure! I was with my fiancee for 3 years before he passed away. He was a sous chef and I learned a lot from him....hell I wasnt big on cooking until I met him. He was an amazing person and a brilliant chef. I was amazed with his work. (Bristal Ross from Dallas,Texas) He should have had his own show!!!
My favorite things to cook
I love to try something I've never done before. I absolutely LOVE to cook Southern food even though I dont eat it as much any more. Its just not the healthiest.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Gumbo with dad!!!! Crawfish boils!!! Frying up hot wings with that Louisianna Hot Sauce!!!!
My cooking triumphs
I just have fun with it. Nothing big.
My cooking tragedies
I set a turkey on fire.....dont ask.

Southwestern Bake
I enjoyed this VERY much. Although I did make altercations (b/c i didnt have everything needed). I cooked the meat in taco seasoning w/o the onion and garlic....I put the salsa on top instead of mixed w/ the beef and sourcream concoction. I layered it like you sai except added olives and jalapinos to the final layer before the cheese and tomatos/clilis and salsa. I just love the way salsa bakes on top of a dish. Thanks for the ideas!!!!

Pork Tenderloin Marinade
Excelent!!!!! I only soaked it for about and hour and added pinapple juice to the marinade. I baked it at 350 for 1 1/2hrs. I also put in in a big sheet of foil and enclosed it with the marinade while baking. AWSOME!!!!!!
